White Walker by Johnnie Walker

I am not a Game of Thrones fan. Watched it once and I just could not get past the second season. Personally, I think it’s overrated, but people seem to love it. So with all the hype and my FOMO, I kinda joined the party (not the viewing party though, just the drinking one).

This limited edition bottle of sweetness was created by George Harper and is inspired by the Starks motto, “Winter is Coming“. It is recommended that it should be served cold, straight from the freezer. When the bottle is chilled, the words “Winter is Here” appear on the side.

I drank it as recommended. Apparently Whiskey, like red wine, tastes better when it’s warm however I prefer my alcohol cold so it did not make much of a difference to me.

The nose is spicy with a hint of fruity aromas and it has a sweet vanilla taste. It’s a nice type of sweetness though, not overwhelming, just enjoyable. Overall, I loved it.

I enjoyed it with my partner while camping in Limpopo on a beautiful Saturday evening. Tried to compare it to the Black Label (because it is in the same price range) but concluded that the two whiskeys cannot be compared because they are both good, same quality, yet very different. You can obviously tell that its a Johnnie Walker but it would still be like comparing apples and oranges.
