Villiera, Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

We decided we’ll celebrate the new year with something different so my first bottle of wine this year was a Cabernet Sauvignon (a part of me is a little disappointed that it was not a Merlot.) In actual fact, my first glass of wine for the year was boxed wine but let’s not go there.

I had initially picked organic wine just for the sake of trying it out but my partner was not really chuffed about that so we settled for the Villiera.

This bottle is a 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc blend. It has low tannins and violet aromas, thanks to the Cabernet Franc. My opinion on the taste is probably biased due to my preference for Merlot, however a friend of mine who’s a Cabernet Sauvignon fan said its her favourite. According to me, it’s a good wine, I wouldn’t say its great but it is worth buying.
